Over the past two days, I've written 15,000 words. It's a personal best. And, yes, keep wondering--what if I've written 15,000 crappy words? But, whatever. It felt good just to write.
Right now, I'm watching Generation Kill, mostly due to my crush on Alexander Skarsgard. (Eric, on True Blood.) Yes, I'm single. Call me! *wink*
The universe has a sense of humor. I got three rejection letters from three different agents, today. I'm now wondering if they all have the same mail person.
I keep using words I don't intend to use. I wrote 'too' instead of 'today,' in the last sentence. Been doing that all day. Not sure why.
The Starbucks closest to me closed. They made good coffee, damn it. Of course, there's another one about five minutes past it. That'll work.
I cannot find a pair of brown sandals I like. I don't know why. The pair that I currently own has moved three times, and is years old. So cute, but they've begun to deteriorate.
I've begun to rethink my outlook on certain things. It's oddly refreshing.
Psh. That doesn't seem possible. You're way too good of a writer for that.
Don't you hate it when shoes deteriorate? It's sad... they're so well loved, and then they start to SHOW that love (like the Velveteen Rabbit, come to think of it.)
@storiesandsinker - Aw, thank you for saying that! Trust me, though, it's possible. I really need to dig out some of my earliest writing for you all. It will truly make you laugh.
@Passionflwr86 - I do hate that! They are terribly old, though. It's very much like the Velveteen Rabbit. Good analogy!
Hey...love your blog, fellow writer to writer :)
Sooo I am totally in love with True Blood, especially Eric. That man is a Swedish dreamboat.
Sorry about the rejections. Just remember, millions of amazing movies and novels have been turned down by countless people before the one genius producer/publisher who put it through, and left the rest kicking themselves.
I hate to admit it, but it's the thought of receiving such rejection letters that has kept me from submitting anything. Oh well, perhaps one day. You though, are an amazing writer! You have a gift, one I am secretly a bit envious of. I am curious about this rethinking of your outlook on things. I imagine there are some stories to tell...?
Your words are never crappy.
and I must emphasize NEVER....
Thanks to the title, I'm now picturing this as an item on the menu of your blog. Kind of like those pizza places that sell whole pies but also random slices of whatever they've got.
Wow, I wish I could write 15,000 words in two days.
A change of outlook is never a bad idea...:)
@untangling_balloyarn - Thank you so much for the compliment! It's much appreciated. I really liked the character of Eric in the books, and I was glad when I first saw Skarsgard in the role. He's very talented and does an excellent job with the part. And he's quite attractive. *le sigh*
You are right, about the rejections, and that is what I've been keeping in mind. I've gotten decent and shrugging them off and moving on. But there's still that "Oh, crap. Really?" moment. *raises mug of coffee* Here's to the publishers who will kick themselves! (Ha. That sounds so weird.)
@AnamcharaConcepts - TOM! Do not use that as an excuse. It's entirely unacceptable. *stern look* Trust me, once you get into the swing of things, you won't be bothered. It's better to try than not. Think of it this way: writing's a lot like love. You can either task the risk of having your heart broken, or you can sit home and be alone. Which would you choose? Considering that you found Danni, I'm guessing you chose being brave. And you were in the service, yes? So, you are very brave. Don't let fear stop you. And yes, there may be some stories to tell. We'll see.
@bluedreamer85 - Thanks, Linda! You're a sweetheart, love. Hugs!
@epiginoskete - And now I want pizza! Mmmm, I'm totally blaming you. *grin* Thanks for reading and commenting!
@randaness - I'm hoping that I can keep up the pace, but we'll see.
i've enjoyed your work... IM sorry for the letters...
MMM starbucks... That sounds so good right now!!!... UGH!! im broke.. THANKS!! lol...
Am I the only person that has bought like 2 of the same pair of shoes or sandels... that I just really really liked.. and new I would wear ALOT... so the extra pair was put away and hidden until those broke... or jsut got so nasty lookin they weren't cute anymore??
@ImUrKarma - I've done that with boots and such. I have two pairs of the same black sandals, but I neglected to get two of the brown. And they were on sale when I bought them. *sigh* Ah, well. Thanks for commenting!!
15,000 words is awesome!
Can I ask what type of espresso/cappuccino maker you own? The brand and model and such.
I must buy crappy shoes or maybe I'm just too rough on them, none of my shoes usually last past a year. I love sandals, and I usually live in them for the summer. It's always sad though when you have to say good buy to a well loved pair of shoes, especially comfortable ones.
lol. love the way you post things up with bullets. quick concise and too the point. no Bs. :]
Try to stay away from coffee mad bad for you. and leaves bad afterbreath
@princess_riceball - These were a super-durable pair, I guess. Or they were, one upon a time. hehe
@verified_but_still_denied - First, thank you for the compliment. Second, if you're warning me away from coffee, you don't know me very well. As for the after-breath, as you put it, there is toothpaste and moutwash for that.
@Blue__Summer - ha ha no warning. Just a random comment. and it's kinda hard to have access to those when you are in class or work. (thats when i need my energy doses) So i switched to poiso- i mean Redbull/energy drink or shot.
@Blue__Summer - Here is the one that I'm seriously considering: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=83261&CategoryID=24734
What are your thoughts? You coffee genius. :)
@burnsbringfreckles_hopefully - I don't know anything about the brand, but it looks like a good product. It got excellent reviews, and it sounds good.
@Blue__Summer - You do know, of course, that what you just did is cheating, correct? *grumbles* So very unfair. *sigh* Yes dear, point taken. Now, about those stories....
I love lists like this, perfectly random!
I'm envious of your five minutes further Starbucks. They closed all of the ones by my house and the nearest real Starbucks is not exactly convenient. I say "real" Starbucks because there is still the mini-Starbucks inside Target. But that's just not the same.
Aww, 3 rejections in one day? :(
That really sucks. But you must be stronger than me; I probably would give up at that. Congrats on sticking to it! I admire that :D
